
Freshwater is offering 5 Skills Maintenance sessions this season, for Bronze, SRC and Resuscitation award holders this season. There are 2 sessions for ART Award holders.
Members must book into the sessions ahead of time and you must complete the online theory before attending. Instructions on how to book into the sessions and how to complete the online theory are further down the page.
IMPORTANT
Prior to attending your practical session:
- Renew your Club membership for the 2026/27 season.
- Register for Skills Maintenance Session via the SLS HUB
- Complete the online theory for your award(s) BEFORE you turn up
- Bring your own resuscitation mask (and hi-viz vest) to the practical session
BRONZE, SRC and RESUSCITATION – Dates and requirements

Dry sessions will be conducted in groups of 4, with up to 16 at each start time (4 groups of 4). As each start time fills, we will open a subsequent start time for the same date until the maximum capacity is reached for that date. Weekend sessions will start with the DRY tasks.
Please follow this process as the Assessors are all volunteers and need to attend multiple sessions to ensure everyone is up to date.
Components of SRC, Bronze 2026 Skills Maintenance
- E-learning/ online modules for your Award(s). See below on how to access those. Remember to complete the online theory for your award(s) BEFORE the practical sessions.
- Members will need to complete the following practical tasks, noting that Lifesaving CPR remains a focus and is included in both the online theory and practical components.
- Resuscitation (live patient, adult and baby manikins, 2-person CPR with defib)
- Signals
- Run-Swim-Tube Rescue (100m run, then 100m swim to a patient in 3½ mins or less, then return patient to shore safely). Swim fins are optional.
- Board Rescue of a conscious patient
- Bronze only – practical first aid scenarios covering Spinal Injuries, Cardiac Conditions and Orthopaedic Injuries
Each session will take approx. 1.5hrs (for dry and wet).
ART – Dates and Requirements

Note that on 19th Sept, ART holders will also be able to complete their Bronze skills maintenance.
If you do the ART session on 22nd Oct, you will also need to book into another Bronze Skills Maintenance event, so that you can complete the remaining wet tasks.

- Team CPR using oxygen and defib equipment
- OP airways
- Correct use of BVM
