Mission Statement

To ensure no lives are lost while on patrol, assist members to achieve their full potential and support the community.

Objectives

The Club is a registered charitable organisation and its object is to pursue the following charitable purposes:

Participate as a member of Surf Lifesaving Sydney Northern Beaches, Surf Lifesaving New South Wales, and Surf Life Saving Australia which are responsible for the promotion, advancement and administration of surf lifesaving;
Provide, promote and administer rescue, lifesaving and first response services and assistance to members of the community who use Freshwater Beach and its immediate environs in conjunction with, if appointed, Council lifeguards;
Conduct, promote and advance the study and training of methods of rescue, lifesaving and first response services including the training and education of members in elements of surf safety and awareness to facilitate the high-level provision of such services at Freshwater Beach and its immediate environs;
Provide appropriate lifesaving equipment and facilities for members so they may provide, promote and administer rescue, lifesaving and first response services to members of the community who use Freshwater Beach and its immediate environs;
Provide members of the Club with opportunities to improve their ability to engage in surf lifesaving competition for the purpose of enhancing their capacity to provide rescue, lifesaving and first response services at Freshwater Beach and its immediate environs;
Encourage and promote members under the age of 23 and their families to remain actively involved with the Club with a view to maintaining sufficient numbers of members appropriately trained for the provision of rescue, lifesaving and first response services at Freshwater Beach and its immediate environs;
Undertake and/or do all such things or activities that are necessary, incidental or conducive to the advancement of these objectives; and h. Remain recognised as a charity in accordance with the Charities Act 2013 (Cth).

Freshwater Surf Lifesaving Club’s Executive Committee

Constitution and By-Laws

The Freshwater SLSC Constitution was updated and endorsed at the Annual General Meeting held on 28 June 2026.

Supplementing the constitution is a number of club by-laws which address a variety of operational issues impacting on the club and its membership. These by-laws are reviewed once a year to ensure on-going relevance. The current club by-laws are listed below and can be viewed by clicking on them. Further by-laws are currently under review by our Governance panel and will be added in due course.
