Freshie Nippers Ride into the Season at One Mile Beach Pre-Season Camp
From 26–28 September, 34 Nipper families gathered at the stunning One Mile Beach for the annual Nippers Pre-Season Training Camp — and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With beautiful weather and calm, glassy surf conditions, the weekend provided the ideal backdrop for fun, friendship, and focused surf training.
Over two sun-drenched days, our U9–U14 Nippers got back into the rhythm of training, refreshing their board and surf skills. The gentle conditions were ideal for building confidence and refining technique ahead of the season start.
Beyond the sand and surf, there was plenty of time for team building and connection. A huge thank you to Ingenia Holiday Parks for their continued support and for providing the Saturday night BBQ — a great time for families to connect and a reminder of what the Freshie community is all about. It was so great to see all the age groups hanging together in the park, strengthening friendships and having fun.
The camp was a huge success thanks to the efforts of our coaches, water safety team, and dedicated families. There really is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, and we truly appreciate all the time, effort, energy, and commitment that made the weekend not only possible, but unforgettable.
Special mention to:
- Robin for his incredible organisation
- Michal for feeding us so well
- JP, Heather, and Mike for towing the trailer
- Mark, Tom, Harry, Carla, Colin, and Sophie for packing/unpacking gear
- U14s leadership and support of the younger age groups
- Al and Alex for the great photographs
To our amazing coaching team — Tom, Bree, Caitlyn, Sammy, Harry, Oli, and Josh — we can’t thank you enough for the time and passion you share with our Nippers. The success of the weekend comes down to you and the love you show for the kids.
With sun on our backs and sand still in our gear, we head into the season full of momentum and Freshie pride.
See you on the beach!
Go Freshie!
