Barney Mullins Swim – UPDATE

Dear Members,

As you know the Club had to postpone the original date of the Barney Mullins swim from early February.

The Barney Mullins swim will now be held on Sunday 12^th April 2026 and won’t be open to the public.  Instead, it will be a swim for “Club Members and their Mates”. Which is a return to its origins.

What this means is that the Ocean Swims website won’t be involved in processing entries.

Start time is proposed to be 9:0am.

We will also provide two (2) course variations – distance of approx. 500m as well as the normal 1200m.  And we will keep this year’s course within the headlands of the bay.

There will be no entry fee for the event, but the Club does need to gauge interest and so please fill in form below.  The Club needs to have an estimate of numbers prior to the day so that water safety and refreshments can be planned.

After the swim, there will be a function in the Club house, and everyone is welcome to come back for that.

We’d like to encourage as many people as possible to participate.  The Barney Mullins Swim is a great tradition within the club that honours one of outstanding members of the past.  The Barney Mullins Shield is still up for grabs, as is a place in club history with associated bragging rights.
