Training
November has been busy for the Freshwater training and education team with the completion of several training courses.
Freshwater welcomes 15 new Bronze and a massive 32 new SRC members.
A huge thank you to all of our Freshwater trainers who have contributed many hours over the past 7 weeks to not only train these candidates but also take them to the assessments.
Freshwater is currently running an intensive Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART) course for several existing Bronze members. This will help each patrol with additional ART qualified members.

Skills Maintenance (proficiency)
The Freshwater trainers and delegated assessors have been extremely busy rolling out the new Lifesaving CPR as part of this season’s skills maintenance. Thanks to Belinda Dobson and our trainers, we have run seven evenings with 4 sessions per evening for the dry allowing up to 48 members each evening. The response to the new Lifesaving CPR has been overwhelmingly positive. The wet skills maintenance sessions (run/swim/rescue) have been run on weekends with delegated assessors running these sessions during patrols. At last count we still have a few people who are yet to complete their skills maintenance prior to 31 December 2025 and you are encouraged to check the Freshwater website for proficiency dates and book in via the SLS Hub. Don’t forget to complete your on-line learning beforehand.
