Freshie Reunion Day – 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s

A special Freshwater Surf Club reunion members from the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s will be held at the club on Sunday April 28. 

Activities will begin with a swim from 11am followed by a BBQ and refreshments at club prices from 12 Noon until late!

A fun day to re-connect past members who forged a special time in the club’s history during those decades.

A time which saw great successes in competition from Branch to Australian and International level and legendary club social nights and some milestones along the way.

The club’s historic tour of Wales in 1974 and the Welsh team’s return visit to Freshie in 1980 and also Freshie attending the first World Life Saving Championships in Bali in 1981 to name a few.

Long serving members Ian and Sue Hanson, who hosted the club members at this year’s Coolangatta Gold weekend at their aptly named “Freshwater” property in Tallebudgera, will be in Sydney and have co-ordinated the day with fellow long serving Freshie member and our bar manager David Inches.

It was a special period for so many, should be a great occasion…spread the word.
